It's been a while!

It's been quite a while since I have posted.
When I left, this is what my front walk looked like...

This is what it looked like when I got home on Monday! (why doesn't snow kill weeds forever??)
My Easter flowers :o) (sorry for fuzzy pictures...from my phone camera!)

I ended up going to Grand Junction to help my mother pack and move to Denver so that she could be closer to one of my brothers. What was suppose to be a 2 week trip ended up being 2 days short of a month! There was a huge rock slide on I-70 which closed up the freeway for awhile and we didn't want to take 2 big moving trucks over the 200 mile 2 lane detour!

The 'moving crew'! Boy was I HAPPY to see them :o)
Final destination...
I did get to take a break to go see the girls and their families in the Salt Lake area. Kelly and I sewed a bit with me showing her a few different ways to apply a zipper and a few other quilting techniques. Wish she were closer so we could take advantage of both of our sewing machines together more often!

Lylia loves mini M&M'sI then went to Jennifer's where first we went to a sale at a fabric wholesaler ( did you know you can get 5 bolts of fabric into a suitcase!!), and then we went back to her house and with said new fabric made a duvet cover, curtains, pillow case and pillows for little Maddy's room! Whew...what a glorious whirlwind :o) Here are some pictures.

I also bought some of the giant ric rac to sell with the fabric in me new Etsy Shop. (still can't believe that I am trying this!) I was planning on taking pictures of the new ric rac to post and realized that Gordon took the camera to China with him!

Here are a few pictures of the visit to Jennifer's...

Maddy thinks of herself as one of the 3 Musketeers!
I caught this sweet one at bedtime...
This was a sign that a small business owner paid for in Grand Junction!
I had a good time, but next time I am thinking.....relaxing time...... (although Mother did show me a nice time in between packing all of the boxes! We had lunch out a few times (o: ) I stayed with Phillip and Lisa at the end but alas, I didn't pull out my camera! sorry!

This storm beat out the last storm ..... tired of shoveling!

This is a little over kill, but so was the storm! So I will make you suffer along with me! hehe (can you tell we were traumatized by all the snow?) I feel like we live in Lake Tahoe without the benefits of the ski lifts!

Looking out the sliding door. The snow was chest deep.
The swing set....compare with the last snow fall.
Looking out at the beehives! Can you see them?!
The deck.....look how blue the sky is!
May not look like a lot of snow he is plowing, but he had been plowing a number of times before this just to keep up! His left arm was killing him by the time he was finished...poor guy. I see a snow blower sometime in our future :o)
Front walk...Why we didn't have church for 2 weeks in a row......

We did a lot of baking of bread, brownies, lemon bars and soup! Yummmm..... what is it about snow that brings out the homemaking skills?

The snow storm to beat all snow storms

That was some snowfall here! Here are some of the pics we took during and after.

Gordon took a series. He took one shot every hour Friday afternoon into the evening and the next morning. It's a good thing he snow plowed at midnight the night before...this would have been a lot worse!

Our neighbor...his driveway runs the entire length of our property! And I think WE have a long way to plow!
The garden and beehives...The swing set!

The glider swing.
My busy little snow plower!
I know there's a walkway somewhere here......Sorry for all the pictures! But this was quite the snowstorm and there's a LOT of snow here :D
